There is so much to tell that it's hard to know where to begin. However...the story of how this website was named is begging to be told. When the author's publisher said that a picture was needed of the author for the cover of THE GRANNY MYSTIQUE this author had her 12-year-old grandson take a picture of her. Then...on second thought she dashed out to GLAMOUR SHOTS and had her photo taken. GLAMOUR SHOTS dutifully removed all wrinkles from her photo...and voila! There is the picture you see on the cover of THE GRANNY MYSTIQUE. Therefore, this site is named www.mywrinkles.com in memory of the many wrinkles removed by GLAMOUR SHOTS.
THE GRANNY MYSTIQUE was born when the New York Times published an article about cultural biologists and anthropologists who were studying grandmothers and who determined that grandmothers have been so very important in society for many millions of years. They weren't sure just what buttons that grandmothers pushed to make such an important difference in their grands. This tickled the fancy of Marguerite Langstaff who has thirteen grandchildren and who knows that all grandmothers know the buttons to push to make a difference. Thus, the birth of the book, THE GRANNY MYSTIQUE, with its nine granny wisdoms...nine wise buttons...and its many letters from loving grands.
Marguerite T. Langstaff sits as a Senior Judge in Colorado. She has been retired from a full time status for about 10 years and is now writing books and speaking to groups about retirement and grandchildren. She and her husband have five grown children...all married with families of their own. They have thirteen grandchildren and are pleased and excited to share in the growth and activities of their families.
Langstaff grew up in Kentucky and has reared her family in Colorado. She was thirty eight years old when she attended the University of Denver Law School. Most of her professional life has been spent on the bench as a Colorado County Judge. She and her husband of forty eight years live in Littleton, Colorado. Her interests include, of course, grandchildren, golf, friends, investment club, Rotary International, and many civic activities. Her philosophy is that Life is Good...Pass it on!
